“What is the schedule for checking in and out?"

Check-in can occur anytime from 1:00pm onwards, and you must check out by 11:00am. If you arrive early, we can store your belongings at our office until the place is ready or any other time you desire. If there are special circumstances, you can arrange for an earlier check-in time, but this must be confirmed prior to the date of arrival. In cases where your plane, train or bus departs later in the day, you’re always allowed to keep your belongings in our office until 8:00pm. However, the apartment has to be departed promptly at 11:00am, in order to be cleaned for the next occupants.

"Are BCN-Stay’s rates on a per-apartment or per-person basis?"

Generally speaking, our rates are on a per-apartment basis, but when you have more people in the property than the maximum amount listed, we add an additional fee for each extra guest.

"Do all of BCN-Stay’s apartments include double beds?"

Most of BCN-Stay’s apartments include double beds, or at the very least a combination of single beds which can be placed alongside each other to create a double bed (or larger!).

"Does the price of the apartment include a free daily breakfast?"

No, BCN-Stay does not provide breakfast is most cases. However, as all of our apartments come a with a well-equipped kitchen, you won’t need to go anywhere to enjoy a wonderful breakfast at home. What’s more, all of our properties are located in the midst of a variety of pleasant dining establishments, as well as trendy pubs and cafés..

"Do your apartments reside in buildings with elevators?"

Most of the BCN-Stay properties are equipped with an elevator, though there are some buildings in the older parts of Barcelona may not have one. If this is a priority for you, inquire with our staff for more details.

"Are BCN-Stay properties as safe as a hotel room?"

Safety is one of BCN-Stay’s highest priorities, and accordingly we choose apartments in the most secure areas of Barcelona.

"Can I bring my pet along to stay in the apartment?"

We’re sorry, but BCN-Stay does not allow pets to stay in the apartments.

"How many guests are allowed to share each kind of apartment?"

BCN-Stay Studio Apartment: 2-4 individuals

BCN-Stay One-Bedroom Apartment: 2-4 individuals

BCN-Stay Two-Bedroom Apartment: 4-6 individuals

BCN-Stay Three-Bedroom Apartments: 6-8 individuals

BCN-Stay Superior Apartments: 11 individuals

"How does the BCN-Stay check-in process work?"

Your voucher will specify the exact procedures. For certain apartments, you’ll be asked to come to our office first. It’s open between 9:00am and 8:00pm from Monday through Friday, and 9:00am to 6:00pm on weekends and most holidays. Outside of opening hours, travelers must telephone thirty minutes before reaching the office, where a BCN-Stay agent will meet up with you. Then, you’ll fill out our Guest Form, arrange the payment and receive your keys and a map. By signing the Guest Form, you agree to take financial responsibility for any damages which are imposed upon the apartment or its furniture during your visit. There’s also a charge of 20 Euro for unreturned keys, and for any additional cleaning required or other extra demands placed upon us by your activity. If you don’t want to use a credit card, you’ll be required to leave a cash deposit of 150 Euro (Larger apartments: 300 Euro) which will be returned to you when you leave. In other cases, you will meet the building’s landlord at the apartment, after calling thirty minutes in advance.

"What is the best way to secure a reservation with a minimum amount of waiting?"

If you’re in a hurry to confirm your booking, the first thing to do is to send a request to the BCN-Stay team, being sure to place a note in the comments section that, if available, you would like to reserve the apartment provisionally. If BCN-Stay replies that the apartment you requested is still available, your reservation will instantly be secured. BCN-Stay then sends you a formal confirmation letter. However, an even faster method for booking one of our apartments is to place a telephone call to our friendly staff.

UNCONFIRMED RESERVATIONS WILL NOT BE HELD.

"How does my BCN-Stay booking get secured?"

As is standard industry practice, BCN-Stay requires secure booking ahead of time, so a guarantee on your end is necessary. BCN-Stay makes preliminary bookings instantly upon request, according to availability and preferences. Before we can send you a formal confirmation letter, however, BCN-Stay will need to acquire your credit card details. Not to worry: BCN-Stay maintains a 100% encrypted connection for transmitting private financial data. Once you’ve sent this data to us, you should receive a formal confirmation letter by e-mail within several business hours, otherwise please contact BCN-Stay for further assistance. Your private credit card information can also be safely transmitted to BCN-Stay via fax machine or simply over the phone during business hours.

"Does the apartment come stocked with clean towels and soap in the bathroom?"

Yes, and that’s just the beginning!

"Does BCN-Stay impose any hidden fees or additional charges?"

1) The only cumpulsory fee BCN-Stay charges is a 25 Euro final cleaning fee.

2) Other charges will only be imposed if you make a SPECIAL REQUEST such as an extra bed or baby cot (20 Euro transportation fee). Extra services also entail mobile phone rentals, welcome packages and flower deliveries. All of these services are only arranged upon request and are subject to approval.

3) Groups of six guests or larger will be required to leave a security deposit of 50 Euro per person. This will be refunded upon check-out.

4) If you cancel a confirmed booking, then you will be subject to charges according to BCN-Stay’s cancellation policy, which is listed on all confirmation letters and at the bottom of this page.

5) Making a change to a confirmed booking, such as lowering the number of visitors or the number of nights, will be subject to a 20 Euro administration charge.

CANCELLATION POLICY

BCN-Stay cannot be held responsible for changes in weather, acts of God, changes in your travel itinerary or travel-related delay. When a confirmed booking has been made and the client fails to let us know about a decision to cancel their stay prior to seven days before their arrival, BCN-Stay must demand partial compensation. The details listed below are maximum penalties; whenever possible, BCN-Stay prefers to impose lower fees -- the only cases in which BCN-Stay will impose the maximum amount are those where there’s a "no-show". This cancellation fee will be charged to your credit card.

Cancellation more than 30 days prior to arrival: 20 Euro (administration fee)

Cancellation 29 to 15 days prior to arrival: 20% of the whole stay

Cancellation 14 to 8 days prior to arrival: 30% of the whole stay

Cancellation 7 to 4 days prior to arrival: 50% of the whole stay

No-show or cancellation up to 3 days prior to arrival: whole stay charge

Bookings for more than 2 apartments or for more than 3 weeks

Cancellation more than 30 days prior to arrival: 30% of the whole stay

Cancellation 29 to 15 days prior to arrival: 40% of the whole stay

Cancellation 14 to 4 days prior to arrival: 60% of the whole stay

No-show or cancellation up to 3 days prior to arrival: whole stay charge

In rare instances, apartments can become unavailable after a reservation has already been confirmed. This can occur for all sorts of reasons, from water damage to unexpected construction work. In these instances, BCN-Stay always tries to re-accommodate its clients in a suitable place at the same price as the original apartment. In instances where BCN-Stay accommodation isn’t free, BCN-Stay cannot be held financially responsible for any extra costs the client bears over and above the original price agreed upon. In instances where re-accommodation isn’t possible, BCN-Stay will give the client a complete refund.
